Come read about my faults - my admittance to precieved "racism", for instance. And my lack of remorse for them! - Comments

I'd just like to say that I always love reading your journals. They make sense.

I think you're right on the money and I'd like to say this now because the timing is so right; I LIKE TACOS AND YES I AM MEXICAN.

Pam Halpert: It's hard to explain, but part of it is for effect. Makes it more distracting and easier to get into.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, then. I've got some Native American in me, but only enough that it occasionally plays a part in traditions my family has. Now that I think back, I have seen people look back at it the way you just describe.
...I look back at the textbooks, the movies, and the times and consider it more the massacre and obliteration of a people, but, yeah. That's just me. :/

v.: Very true, but that's why I'm only half-way concerned with the Gym Challenges, when I play. It takes me a bout a week to get through a region, only because I spend so much time training every single Pokemon I can get my hands on like military dogs. >_>

Pokemon games are awesome! (Until you get to to the league on your third day of playing it. Damn games don't make the quest any longer...)

v The only reason I used the example is because I have seen it so many times. Many movies and books have terribly scewed people's perception of us.

Also the game thing, you sound a bit like my husband. he takes them way too seriously and I can hardly comprehend why. Happy gaming to ya.

Pam Halpert: I tend to be a bit serious, when I actually get around to console-gaming. Part of the fun is being over-the-top about it.

But, yeah. There's a reasonable level of association that it's okay to have. The 'savages' thing... a bit of an extreme example, but you made the point; it's always a good idea to consider a person's upbringing to really understand their views on things. They can be wrong, but there's still got to be a level of acceptance before you can even think about reasoning.
    Again, there's a reasonable leeway.

Well put, I have seen many people stereotype and generalize my culture. And not all of it is bad, some of it is just common knowledge and therefore understandable. Though when I get asked if I chant songs and sacrifice children to tree gods then I get annoyed.

I also think that the last part of this journal is something that a lot of people fail to see or evben understand. they will automatically call someone out for something and it isn't entirely fair because it's what they know. If there is someone who was brought up to believe that Native Americans are savages well then alright, I guess I can't exactly blame them because it is what they were taught.

Now can I correct them, of course. But that's a bit off topic. Side note the beginning of this journal, a bit odd to be honest.

Dimli: I'm okay with being a nothing. Makes me more mysterious-like. *shot*

And, yeah. Doing that might make my head a bit too big.

I think you're a nothing. Wow, that came out wrong. That's what he said. Hahahaha.
*This is where you might possibly laugh.*

Anyways, can I print this, mail it to you, ask for signature, get it back and hang it on my wall. It is wall-worthy.

High-five my fellow Mexican brothah! (well, actually, I'm only half, but who cares!)
