Percy was never a jerk, he just had a very strong desire to prove himself, since he came from such a big family where it was hard for just one of them to stand out. He then put his faith in his co-workers, simply because they were his ticket to "making it big". After a while, even though he discovered that he couldn't trust the ministry and that they'd been wrong all along, he wasn't able to swallow his pride and go back home.

I've always loved Percy, because he acted very reasonably all the way through the series.

I love all of them expect Percy he was good until he went to the ministry and became a jerk. Yet it's sad that he returned only to see his brother die.

me too. When Fred died I threw my book at my window because I thought it was a joke. and when Harry died I just stayed quiet and kept reading like if there still faith. ;D Fred <3. He's amazing both of the twins are.
