you could probably talk with the local church and see if they're willing to help out. They do charitable things all the time. Also as the airlines if they have any type of fee waivers for people with sick family members.
It'll help if she had an authorized letter from his doctor and the state of health he is in. I sure hope this helps. Also search the web. A lot of good can come from it.
