Show some courtesy. - Comments

Not everyone who clicks on your story actually reads it. Some just want to check for a longer summary and decide after all that they're not interested, or only get a few lines in before they backtrack and decide they don't want to finish.

Honestly, I'd rather someone actually read my story and have a constructive comment to give, rather than have someone send me something like "HAI GRATE UPDATE SOON K" because they feel like they're obligated but really don't feel like putting actual effort into it. If someone truly has something to say about your writing, they'll say it. Sometimes I'll get hundreds of hits for a one-shot but won't even get a dozen comments, and I'm okay with that. Quality above quantity.

I do it back to the person who did it to me, :)

{guilty] Sometimes when I can't really think of something I say great job. I try very hard to think of things but sometimes words escape me :P. If your going to read my stories, heads up, their very amateur.

I wouldn't even care if they were just sitting there
telling me everything wrong with it. ATLEAST, they'd
be giving me their thoughts.
If you didn't like it- tell us. We have room to grow,
we aren't hurt by every little thing. In the world of
poetry, judgement is necessary. WE NEED IT TO LEARN.
If you like it- TELL US. It's nice to feel appreciated. our work, especially.

That crap is just as bad as getting 'k' as a reply to your text message. The first thing you think is..."WTF. Elaborate."

All my comments are thorough. I mean, God, at least give me a paragraph. Or maybe even two sentences.
If you can say 'wow', then you can definitely tell me what made you feel that elevated

Another thing I cannot stand, is one word comments.
"Amazing" "Nice" "Beautiful" "Wow"

Anyone can say that! Do they even grasp the concept
of the poetry, or stories themselves? Have they any idea
the message or reason, behind what they're reading,
IF THEY ARE READING IT AT ALL?

Agreeing with wash.it.all.away. I can't stand when I work hard to think of a title name and people come up with these bullsh*t titles. It's worse on sites like quizilla & wattpad but I've noticed a spike on here too. My stories are special to me & when I don't get comments I'm sad. But when I do it lights up my world.<---Mini rant

I have stumbled across many great stories. Many of them have little to no review. And I'm like 'Damn. What a shame'. LOL

But seriously, most of the time if the title isn't anything like "I'm a whorish girl at an all boys boarding school that just so happens to host a celebrity!!!!", then the story gets no recognition.

It sometimes hurts the progress of your story. You feel like "why should I work hard and update religiously if no one tells you whether it's good or not." This is a site to get constructive criticism, but I guess a lot of people just jump on the popularity bandwagon.

What is even worse is when they subscribe. Like what the hell you subscribe and read my stuff faithfully, but don't comment?
Damnit I wish we could see our subscribers. I would look to see if they are one of the commenters, and if they are not, I would delete or block them from my story

Gah, you're so right. Comments really do help, but hardly anyone will take the time.
