I don't think you're doing anything wrong, really... Just advertise some more. If it's really interesting, then you'll get bites. You just need to be patient. And if you really need to, you can just can the whole site. People do it all the time. If you want to RP you can always go onto the forums on here. There's usually a ton of people willing.
