    One. "Emo," means emotional.
Two. The kids who want to be "emo" give themselves a shiit reputation.
Three. If you don't like it, stop being to damn apathetic, all you emos.
Four. No one really cares that much. A genre is a genre. You don't see "Preps," and "Jocks," complaining about being called "preps, and jocks."
If all the "emos" would stop flipping their shiits, and slitting their wrist. No one would call them "emo."

And for the record. "Emos" are not different, or special, or original. They are just another fad.

Do what I do when people call me emo. Make them feel idiotic by having a long speech about how emo is really a 90s music movement, started by bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids, Sonny Day Realestate, and so on. Throw in something about how today's society only makes the stereotypical "emo" label because of it' inability to deal with anything that isn't the norm.

The term "emo" is society's way of pointing out people who look like they fall into a certain label, not for singling people out for being different. No "emo's" are different, they follow a certain trend, henseforth why they are stereotyped.

Go ahead, show them you'll do it and make them make fun of you more.
