I would just like to point out,
I am proud to be a curvy girl :D
    And sure,
I could loose a few pounds,
but I still don't want to be a stick

I'm kinda feeling offended by some of the ideas in these comments. I just want to point out that 'curvy' does not necessarily mean 'not skinny'. A healthy sized 'skinny' girl can be curvy as well. I agree with a comment below me; curves (as in an hour-glass figure) are created by bone structure.

I don't know. I've just been noticing a lot of negative comments towards 'skinny' girls lately, and that pisses me off because it is so not fair. I'm about 5'4", and I weigh 120 lbs. There's nothing wrong with me. I have curves. I have hips. I have (tiny) breasts. I'm not going to break if you touch me. I'm not anorexic.

I'm just a bit annoyed. Don't mind me.

Hey, I'm totally with you here. I've thought the same thing ever since I was a little girl. Girls with curves, in my opinion (even though I am a girl), are prettier. Maybe that's just me trying to boost my own self-esteem, but I'm sure most everyone would agree with me. Even some of the "sticks".

I don't think this is true anymore, in real life. Perhaps in magazines and in the media but in real life...not so much. I have a few guy friends and all of their tastes in women vary. Some like women with big breast, some guys are all about the butt, some like girls with a more athletic build, some like woman that are tiny, and so on. I think the whole "super thin is beautiful" thing is something that's becoming more and more out-dated and is really only upheld in the media...and even the media is moving away from it. The Kate Moss's and Mischa Bartons are being less glamorized and we're looking towards more healthy body images. I think this started happening around the time Nicole Richie walked out of her home looking like a classroom skeleton, that's when people realized, "This isn't okay."

Every guy I ever asked said they love women who have curves more.
    Jus' sayin'.

And you can't make curves go away.
So, if a girl doesn't have curves, it's because she was born that way.
Curves are bone structures. They can't disappear.
    Unless you digitally enhance pictures.

it seems that the media does always talk about how people should be skinny and whatnot, especially girls. and they say it is a big problem with teenage girls more than anyone.
i agree with wash.it.all.away about how 'beauty is on the eyes of the beholder'.
but with saying that the media targets more about being skinny, they never talk about teenage girls who think they are 'too' skinny...

I know. I just think the media do focus on smaller girls.

    But I hate these things:

1.)The bigger girls start having personal vendettas against skinny girls. Hating and all that stuff. And I'm not necessarily talking about you guys. I just have seen it happen.

2.) All girls really can't look like that. I do think it can be offending. All women are the same to me

Wash it all away it did hit home cause I used to be dead skinny and always acused of being anorexic. I have nothing against being small cause I am but I think what the author is getting at is girls obsession for trying to be stick thin, you know obsessive dieting and that. I have nothing against skinny people.

True. That's why I said the first time that size should not matter. A girl is a girl to me. We all have vajayjays. People should get over it

I don't think she meant that all thin girls don't have curves.
I think it's just that every time we see models on a runway or something like that they're as straight as a twig.
I definitely know that skinny girls can have curves! I'm thin, I have curves. I'm not bashing anyone who is skinny or thin or anything. I'm just tired of the media saying you should look like that.

Rainy Day that is a screwed up way of looking at things. Skinny girls can have curves. You can be small but still be shaped like an hour glass. And yes, some skinny girls don't have them, but so what. And not all skinny girls are twigs.

Annnd, I know a lot of girls who look like that. My friends, most of them, look like that. I, for one, look like that.

And Savannah, I agree with Ludo. Maybe it is kind of just you. Like what you wear and stuff. And I'm not trying to diss on you. But ehhh

I dunno. I'm curvy, but not overweight and guys still want me. But I don't want them. Maybe you don't have the right body flattering clothes or something? I hope I didn't start any fights or anything. Just saying.

Okay, I'm slim, and small, and I have curves. But I must say I find this offending. Don't hate on skinny girls, sweetheart. I am damn sure that those guys must like them for something other than their size.

And size shouldn't matter anyways. If you are small, then okay! Curvy? Good! And if you are a little overwieght, then you rock that baby fat! Cause sweety, beauty is on the eyes of the beholder. And if you think you are sexy, then you are freaking sexy.

Pixie Lass, you seem very upset, like this has hit home with you or something. Being skinny is not bad. It is healthy. Waaay healthier than being big. Uness they are anorexic, but STILL. Being small is not bad at all.

Im not a guy but will tell you. Stupid fashion industry thinking women need to be skinny twigs to be beautiful. Curves are healthy and quite frankly a curvey girl can bear kids better than a skinny one. I love my curves, ok I do complain sometimes about being out of proportion but my boyfriend loves them and guys in the street like big hips that swing. I don't get it either, I think it is silly and unhealthy.
