If you guys are all really best friends, you will definitely stay in touch. I wouldn't worry. I am still best friends with a girl I haven't seen in three years. And high school isn't really that scary. The only thing that sucks is that you'll get more homework and assignments.

I was home schooled :( so sadly I don't have any advice to give about that, but on the friends thing I do :)

It doesn't sound shallow at all, you don't want to loose your friends.
I don't think any of you will forget each other if you were that close, call each other on the phone and yeah you do have Facebook.
