v Y'know, it's probably because you're a girl...she expects your brother to act/ post things like that. My mom does it all the time; the typical male behavior is ohso "vulgar" and looked upon when it comes from a girl, you know, that sort of bull. -.-"

    v. Yeah I'm going to look into that.

Though you know the funniest thing? She's all on my ass about posting the rape moth picture, but has no problem with the picture of my brother sticking up the middle finger at me.

I think you just gave us a reason why your MOM shouldn't have a facebook. Or be anywhere near a computer for that matter. .-.

On the privacy settings, you can edit it so that your mom can't see a few sections of your facebook, mostly just albums though. That can help, no?

As much as it sucks, that's what your parents are going to do, you just kind of have to chill and deal with it. Speaking from experience of having the overbearing parents it's honestly just her trying to set a better example for you.

My mom is the same way. I'd posted something about my friend (that's a girl) not wanting to be my boyfriend as a joke (everyone commented about us being lesbians, but who cares), and then I put "LOL @ people who think [my friend] and I are lesbians" and someone had replied to one of the comments, saying, "Anyone who says the word "ya'll" needs to be viciously and anally raped in their sleep" and ohoho, my mom freaked out. I deleted my Facebook and made another account (Princess Fro Fro, if you want to add me xD) so I could talk to a few of my friends.

I actually blocked my mom once - it didn't work out. xD

    And btw: rapey moths? LMFAO

Youch. That does sound pretty awful! I could never add my Mom or Dad on Facebook. They would probably do the exact same thing to me.

There is a way, though, that you can protect certain statuses/posts/photo albums so certain people (including your Mom) won't be able to see them. If you ever want to know how to do it, let me know :P

I don't know if she'd be angrier at me for posting pictures of rapey moths or for blocking her.

I don't have Facebook, because my dad will be doing exactly that. But I really want Facebook, because a lot of friends who moved have it.

I know right, my mom doesn't let me cuss. I'm going to block her when I get to like 16.

Yea I know how you feel
I'm 18 and she still does it. I'm thinking about blocking her.
If she sees me on it, she'll go nuts and yell at me to get off it...

It bugs me to no end... >.<

It's a shame when a parent is overly protective and possessing. I mean it's ok to overlook what you're child is doing, but it's also ok to allow them to make mistakes as they grow.

Understood. My mom's the exact same way.
I wrote some CIWWAF lyrics on my facebook as my status and she freaked out asking what it was and saying it was inappropriate. I was like, "It's from a song."
She said, "Then you should quote it!"
At that, I pointed to the quotation marks. And she still was pissed. -.-
