I don't like the girls at my school who like Justin Bieber, solely because they're annoying and dress like little popular robots, but I have nothing against JB himself.
Although, I find it funny that most of his YouTube videos have more dislikes than likes.

I have the same view as dru's in the dark..

A funny thing that comes to my mind when I hear that phrase though is like a robot whos doing techno music battling an orchestra and a band.
Cause the band and orchestra create the sounds themselves and could play in front of an audience doing it all on their own while the other side is basically all computer generated sounds. My imagination is weird sometimes.

I Am Death said it perfectly. It's just an opinion of style now, rather than the actual definition.

I think when people refer to 'real music', that they've not talking necessarily about the fact that thiss real music is any more music than the rest in reference to the style, technicality, etc. I think they're usually referring to those bands and artists that reeeally had to work to get the recognition they deserve. That's just in my experience.

Though people do say it because they don't like whatever band as much as their favourite.
In my opinion, 'real music' is stuff like The Beetles and Queen. It's stuff that cannot be reproduced and if it were, it'd not be liked nearly as much.

I agree! It really bugs me when people say "That's not real music. It sucks.", mainly because I feel an overwhelming urge to correct them.

I agree. I mean, I make fun of a lot of them, but I don't think they aren't making real music. I may not consider some people real "artists", but I also don't consider some authors real "writers". But what they create is real because it fits the definition.

    YES. THIS.

I don't really listen to either Bieber or A7X, but if someone does, that's not going to make any difference to what I think of them.

It's just how I like quite alot of "mainstream" pop music - some Katy Perry, Take That. The Temper Trap, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, stuff like that - but there's no need to judge me by my music taste or to judge the music I like. You can listen to what you want to listen to, and I'll listen to what I listen to.

    That's why headphones were invented!

It's an overused cliché. :/ Personally, I use it as a joke with my friends.
& those "you say" comparisons are pretty pointless to me as well.
Especially when they go on for ages; why can't you just list the
artists you like without it being followed by it's opposite? Frustrating.
