I've been invited to a lot of those conferences, but I never attended because of the price. Honestly, I think a lot of them aren't worth it anyways.
My advice, don't go to them. I don't think that they are worth it. If you want to have this on your application for college, find one that is closer to you or try to attend leadership conferences through your school. Don't spend all of that money if you can find a way to do it for less or even free.
My school is about $14,000 a semester with financial aid. It sucks trying to find money for school :/
