Wow... What a disgusting thing for a father to say.
I have dad issues too.
It's miserable for a long, long time.
But then, gradually, you realize that... This wasn't your fault at all. That he is the one who needs to grow up. That he did you wrong, but you don't have to let him have power over you anymore. That you don't have to get upset over him anymore. That you can choose your family, and that you can better yourself by keeping him out of your life.
When that happens... It still sucks, and it will continue to suck forever... But it's not miserable anymore.April 7th, 2011 at 08:41pm
