Writing while listening to songs you like, or that put you in a creative mood always helps me. Along with reading, reading helps me, other than that, when I write I just wing it, see it from the charecters points of view and enter the world of my story in my mind, kind of like Sucker Punch(awesome movie^-^)
    Anywho, miss you bunches chicka(:

Well, what I do is write everything out in advance, every plot point, and everything that'll happen. Usually what'll happen in what chapter. That way I know what's gonna happen, and I can write it down. It's very helpful.

The only problem is that doesn't necessarily make me WANT to write, but at least I don't have writer's block, so even if I don't feel like writing, I can force my way through it to get to the very end (and ending a story is a reward in itself). Don't know if that helps, but if you can figure out everything in advance, it should make things much easier.

I have found it helpful to think of the ending you want, and then to work backwards from that if the other way doesn't work.
