You should text him, but be like "Did you get a summer project for English?" or something. Then the more you guys text casually, the easier you'll see how he acts towards you(:

I know how you feel. :P If you have any classes with him, take a small approach and just say 'Hi!' and see what happens from there. Eventually little hello's will turn into conversations and then whatever haha. So yeah, hoped I helped a bit. :P

Ah, that's never a fun place to be.
It passes, though, I promise :) And hey, what's the worst that's going to happen if you text him, he won't reply? At least then you'll have an answer...and if he does reply, you'll be happy.
One text message isn't being annoying.
