Anyone who is past there freshmen year in highschool :D - Comments

  • Don't get caught with worrying about keeping with a bunch of friends or anything for the first year. Cause at that time all the freshies are all kind of not sure whats going on and they shift around awkwardly until they get comfortable. It's better to just go with the flow and things will come naturally.

Focus on school/band and managing the new work load first, when you focus on your priorities you'll be able to interact with and spot out the people who are on your same level. Level as in who you are and where your at/going.

Really it's better to be a quiet person because if something about you or your attitude is loud or rude some how it gets people talking more and draws negative attention. Sad to say but even the teachers do this. It's always nice to make good impressions on the teachers because in my experience they are more surprised if you get good grades and they for some reason off the bat expect you to not be good enough... But I was in honors classes so maybe that's different?

Don't be fake but be friendly and smile at who ever you make eye contact with so they don't get the wrong idea about you. And do the same with the people who will be in each of your classes so you already know your going to start each class in a more friendly environment than if you walked straight in to class and sat staring at your binder until the teacher started talking.

  • Just be yourself and don't be unnecessarily rude. People won't really mess with you unless you mess with them first. High school isn't as scary as everyone says it is. Just be yourself and you'll be fine. (:

  • Dude Marching Band is the best!

all I can tell you to do is to be yourself, be nice, and don't worry about all the drama that's going to happen because people who get caught up in all the drama of highschool are stupid because it's not the end of the world.

if you are nice to everyone, you won't make any enemies and that is deffinatly a plus, because everyone will either like or be indifferent to you. you'll have no problem with that.

be yourself because like EverRose said people can smell a fake right away and they hate it. lol. if you be yourself and you have friends already, then you should be fine. don't worry about a thing!

  • Marching band ftw! :D

Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to just...don't get caught up in the drama so much. Because honestly, there's going to be so many new things you're going to be introduced to, and so much more independence you'll be testing out; pretty much everything is going to seem more important than academics.
But I promise you, it's not.
At the same time, though...have fun! Don't be scared to try new things, because this going to be the experience of a lifetime.

  • Just focus on your school work, really. I mean, have friends and such but don't try to start drama or anything along those lines. It's not really worth it. And you have tons of other people who are freshmen, too, they can help you.

It'll be alright, don't worry. Just... stay calm and confident.

  • Walk with your head held high and be yourself. No one likes a fake and upperclassmen can smell a fake from miles away. Have fun!

  • What's the point of a marching band without people liking football..?

No offense. But just don't get in people's way, don't give dirty looks to people you don't know, and don't talk about others just because your friends are. Also, don't ask anyone older where a class is. They'll probably send you to a boy's bathroom
