i'm the opposite. i spend too much on myself. if i'm having a bad day or someone screwed me over, i always buy myself something and try to justify it.
but if you're having this problem a lot, why don't you put a percentage of the money you spend on yourself toward charity so you don't feel so bad? if you buy a 40 dollar thing, give 4 dollars to the salvation army santa or whatever. it might help you feel better.November 20th, 2011 at 07:11pm -
I try to remind myself why it's worth it also but it barely alleviates the problem. My stubborn nature is working against me I guess lol.November 20th, 2011 at 06:56pm

I do have this problem, but it is my grandma who makes me feel bad about spending money. She lectures me every time I buy something.
But sometimes I actually feel bad about buying something, and I try to think about why it was worth it. Just think about the reason why you bought it, and don't feel bad if it is something that will be worthwhile and will make you happy.
That is awesome that you want to learn the ukulele! Some kids at our school will carry those around school and play them as they're walking. It is cool.November 20th, 2011 at 06:38pm -
I do. =( I always feel like I'm not far enough ahead financially. Even when things are going well and we have plenty of extra spending money, I'm constantly on my toes to make sure I'm setting more and more money aside because no matter what I never feel like I have enough. And there are times like now that I'm grateful for it--where if I didn't have anything in savings, I wouldn't be able to afford rent for the next month or two--but for the most part, it just gets in the way. When money's really tight, sometimes I try not to eat much because I'm always thinking about how much the food cost.
I'm not really sure how to stop it, though. =(November 20th, 2011 at 06:35pm
I hate feeling spoiled, haha.
