Get reported over nothing? Yeah, me too. - Comments

Oh. Man. ONE cuss word and THIRTY people think it needs to be reported?
Gosh, I guess they thought there was no way it could be a mistake. Telling someone politely flew out the window there.

So I totally haven't read all of these comments, I'm just going to throw my opinion in her. My apologies if this has already been said. (:

People report to help out the admins. There are only two active admins on this site and they do the best they can, but they need the users' help. It's up to us to report rule breakers so the admins can properly handle it and control this site. Personally, I don't report anyone because I just don't like reporting people at all. I've only reported very few people in the years I've been on this site.

If someone warns you by telling you to censor such and such or something like that, don't take it too offensively or personally. When someone warns you of the rule, they are only trying to help you to prevent reporting you. Many mibbians are like that, they'll warn you and give you a chance to correct it before reporting you.

Then again, I have no idea what journal you're talking about, I'm just saying in general. (:

I don't report people in journals, but I do in stories, because spelling and grammar matter.

I think everyone's opinion on here are right.
They just needed to hear mine, I was ranting and that was all.

Hayley: I agree with Bella, somewhat. People tend to focus on the words themselves and not the overall message. Like if someone said, "All the users on Mibba are sh*tty" or something like that and went on to explain themselves, then everyone would be all over that person. I know some people can get away with calling people names or something if they're joking or teasing. But really, people don't always think about their actions or words beforehand or about the consequences. And that's what the person(s) that reported you did or maybe they were reporting you out of boredom to get a rise out of you.

I kinda don't know what else to say now. O_O

you have a lot of comments on this journal 0__0 don't be sad! I've been reported many times for cursing, lets be honest, I swear like a salior. But look, I'm still here (suprisingly) one report is NOT a big deal sweetheart (:

And again, I can understand that and it's good that you took the word of. But that was most likely why people reacted and why this became a huge deal in the first place. No one was out to 'chew you out' for venting, it was simply your choice of words that kind of stood out as something much too harsh for the issue at hand.

bella heart shawnee: I took that word off because i realized it was harsh. It was just offensive that people talked about it on my journal, and then everyone reported me. I even took the journal off because of it. I'm here to write, not cause conflict with everyone.

Tyra's Kitten Kori: I know it's just frustrating.. My entire point of this journal was to rant, not be chewed out by everyone for speaking my opinion.

But to be fair, how is anyone supposed to know who else has reported something? (I had a story reported six times for the same mistake once before, because how were they supposed to know that someone else had already reported it?)
And no one should get up in your case over swearing in a journal, that's actually advised against in the rules, so you could've in returned reported their comments if you were harrassed (I don't know, I didn't see).

It's okay to rant and it's okay to react, but you should always think one extra time before using words like "nazi" like it's nothing. That word was most likely why so many people reacted in the first place.

Hayley, don't let it get to you. Ok? There are a lot of people that will start things with you, me, or anyone for that matter. Just learn to ignore it and move on. :) You did nothing wrong really but one little cuss word isn't going to get anyone banned.

It was how many time I got reported off that small mistake, and how people were freaking out about it on my journal. I apoligized to everyone already.

That's not against the rules, she wasn't bashing anyone in particular and the other journal is gone now. So.

I agree with you. If I see a cuss word in a journal, I usually would be like, "Censor your swearing," and just leave it at that and I just think some people take things way too seriously. Okay, one report? No biggie, she gets the idea. Thirty? Wow, just wow.
