Ehh, late opinion, but I think the books are primarily plot-driven. I love the books a lot, but I can't stand the main character simply because she's a put-off. She makes so many awful choices I can just barely tolerate and respect her. However, the plot is quite nice and I adore it.

Well, just because you don't like it doesn't necessarily mean it's overrated, though you can certainly have your own opinion about it. I absolutely adore it, and I'm super picky about books, which being an English major does to you.

I don't see the hype about it either. I promised my friends I'd read the first one, though, because everyone who's read it have told me they like it, except for you apparently XD My sister is reading it right now, and she likes it. I have no intention of seeing any of the films though, because I've heard parts of the book are... not too bad, but like, the movie will have blood and crap in it, and I hate bloody movies, so yeah.

You could send the books to me if you don't want them ;D

I want to check the movie and the books out too but I'm waiting until I get back home before starting any new books so that I won't be so distracted by my family. I bought a handful of new books during my stay here in Tennessee and I still have books left over from last year that I need to read as well.

lululz, I want to sneak into a class at the college my sibling goes to but I have yet to do so at the moment.
she does not do film or photography but she does psychology which I may be interested in.
also, she is in this university photography club, and I want to sneak in there one day too.
I might do photography in college, but am not too sure at the moment.

deerstalker Thursday I have an appointment with a woman at the college I want to go to, to try and get me onto a photography course there. Maybe a film course too! My boyfriend studies business at the college there and it's one of the top 3 best colleges in England. I do love it there a lot. Been twice and can't wait to go again tomorrow. I just sit in my boyfriends class quietly hahaha. His teacher doesn't even care that I'm not his student but in his lesson....

some aspects in films cannot be captured in novels.
like the sense of wonder and mystery, I find.
films are more real, and pretty, to say the least.
I love photography too, I do it at school.
and sometimes I wish I did media studies or something to do with film. xp

deerstalker I love how certain films make me feel. I love noticing how different films are actually filmed. I love putting my own opinion on it. I love reading the reviews after. I just really love film and some of the titles I've watched have been astonishingly good. Incredible. And I think about them for a very, very long time.
Book fans often say films are just for lazy people but honestly, just no book will beat how an amazing film makes me feel. I think it has a lot to do with the fact I'm very interested in photography too. It's visual and often beautiful.

    I love the cinemas too.
and watching films is much less tedious than reading.
I am often too lazy to read.
so I prefer watching films than reading. xp

I kinda can't wait for it
Since I never read any of the books
But I might understand it better through the movie
    Plus it sounds interesting

But I'm not like super exicited about it, like most are,
only Book to Movie hype I was ever apart of was Harry Potter
And nothing can overcome that so yea.

vulgar rose - I'm not big on Charlie Sheen at all but this was before he got super crazy haha. I try and see past it anyway. I think it was made in the mid/late 80s.

deerstalker I'm glad someone else agrees. I won't be reading the others either and honestly it's not going to be great fun finishing this one when I'm not really interested or enjoying it. A book should make me feel captivated. The Hunger Games doesn't do that for me. I find the writing style quite dull and dry too. Maybe I'm being a little harsh but this is just how I feel about it.... Hopefully the film is a great watch, at least.

bia perry. I have not seen Platoon. But the fact that Charlie Sheen is in it puts me off enough.

    vv. Sure, sure. c; Hahaha.

I watched some movie, I forget what it's called but it has Charlie Sheen in it and it was so so so disturbing but it was amazing. I'm so into history and the art of war and it was just perfect. PLATOON! That was it. Have you seen it? It's brilliant.

    I agree.
I have read the first book and there is nothing wrong with it.
but it was not super great either.
I do not understand why there is so much hype about it because it honestly is not that hype worthy, in my opinion.
because of reviews of the second and third books, I will not read them.
I was greatly disappointed when the first book did not live up to the standards that I thought it would.

bia perry. I didn't mean to though! I thought it was the first book, haha.

Ah I've only seen Battle Royale, not read it. But I hear the book is brilliant too. I love Battle Royale in general. If you read the book be sure to see the film after because it IS incredible. Gives me chills just thinking about it.... so good and bloody.

    v. Hahah I read them as they were still coming out, but I am guilty of doing that for a few other books. :p

My friend is obsessed with it but won't tell me anything aside from the basic idea because he wants me to read it for myself haha. I probably will on my next break from school. c: There are certain books I feel I need to read without too much interruptions and that seems like one of them haha.

bia perry. I read the back of the last book by accident and found out that Katniss survives The Hunger Games twice hahaha. Oops. That basically took away any interest that I did have.

Battle Royale is AMAZING. It's Japanese and very disturbing.
