Carly Ryan was killed because a guy lied about his age and met up with her and killed her. She was 15 and went to my school, heaps saddd.

my parents don't trust me that i use the internet in a safe way {{i think that they magically chopped about ten years off my age in their minds}}

I dunno, I think it's pretty fucked up that people take advantage of kids like that, but you just gotta be careful. I'm always careful on the net cuz of stuff like that. As long as you don't do anything stupid, like meet some guy who says he's 16 in a dark alley (I know, exaggeration) you'll be fine. I think it's important for parents to tell their kids about how to be careful about info they put on the net. Unfortunately, not all parents do that. So you end up with situations like that one.
