I Want a Tattoo - Comments

  • I actually have a thing for tattoos. I think they're great as long as there is a reason for them. :) Plus, I think they are kinda hot.

I have one tattoo (which is actually only a few months old). My aunt said it was fine when I told her I wanted to get it and she took me to get it. It's on my shoulder so you can see it when I wear tank tops, but I think it's a perfect place for it.

My tattoo is a little pair of wings wrapped around a heart. It also has a halo over it. I saw the design on the internet and just knew that it was meant for me. To me it's very important because my dad had a pair of wings on his back and my mom had a heart. It shows me that I'm never alone and that they are always there with me. :) I'm thinking about getting another one but I'm not sure.

And no, I don't regret it. It keeps me going on when I think I'm going to give up.

  • I don't currently have any tattoos, but if I ever get one, I was thinking it would be nice to get one in commemoration of the state I'm from, (like the state flower, or something of the sort). I also think a quote would be nice.

  • I love the dove concept, it so cool!

  • I have three!

one is about five inches big of a dove on my forearm. t'was my first one. I got it for my Great Aunt who passed away from cancer. it started off as lung cancer, progressed to breast cancer, and then brain cancer. the brain cancer is what ultimately killed her. she was my best friend. the day she passed away (in '02, I was only nine years old), I knew exactly what tattoo I was going to get, where, and that it was for her. exactly a month after my 18th birthday, I got it. it only took me a month because I was horrified, lol.

my second one is on the back of my neck. I got it on May 16th, exactly two months after I got my first one. I think it's funny how it worked out that way. it's on the back of my neck and says, "open your mind before your mouth." they're Motionless in White lyrics. my favorite band, my favorite song, and something I try and live by.

my most recent / third one is on the back of my right arm, same as my dove, and is the most intricate one. it's pretty much the whole back of my arm, up onto my elbow. it's an hourglass and says "timeless" inside.

needless to say, I fucking love tattoos! I think they're beautiful (most of them). I will never regret any of them. I got them for a reason! even when I'm an old lady, it'll remind me of my childhood and memories that may have been forgotten without them. :)

people give me shit for the fact that two of them are very visible and impossible to hide without a long sleeved shirt. I couldn't care less. they're not offensive, and I have a job at the moment. not one I would like to be at for the rest of my life, but ANY job that refuses to hire me simply because I have tattoos isn't worth it, in my opinion. so, lol. plus I wanted to see them.
