Hey (: I commented on the original blog about how I couldn't wrap my head around it. But as for pretending that they're fictional characters to get more reads, I think that's kind of sad. I, personally, will stop reading a story if the "real" characters are too unbelievable and unrealistic.

But, I did just start a new story. (: It's called Idiosyncratic. I hope you'll check it out. It's only two short chapters so far.

I agree with your point, I still stand by my own. However I do like that you were respectful. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion as long they remain polite.

Bandcest doesn't bother me because I don't view it as incest. Even if band members are very close or best friends, I still don't really see the connection to siblings that some people tend to make. For me, even is people are best friends, there's a possibility of them become more than friends so...I don't really see or get the squick factor some people have. To me, people who are friends becoming lovers/dating/marrying...whatever isn't 'cest'-like in anyway, so I don't really see the issue.

For me, when reading stories like this and relating it to real life, I don't think the issue would be that it's like having sex with a sibling. I think the issue would be how a bad break-up between the dating members would affect the rest of the band and their ability to go on as a band.

Also, I can't help but feel like a lot of the opposition to bandcest is the slash aspect (not saying that people who don't like it are homophobic). I think people generally find bandcest fics easier to swallow if the couple featured are heterosexual, which makes me think it's more of a slash issue.

Although I did agree with the original blog, I do agree with this one, too. I'm not "against" bandcest or anything--by all means, people should definitely write what they're interested in--but I guess it's just odd for me because I've never even heard of half the bands that are being used for bandcest stories. (Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, etc.)

Picturing them as original characters is the best way to do it--you're right. I just don't really read it because it's not what I'm interested in as the reader. I do like how there's no bashing involved, because both you and the original blog author stated this in a respectful way (like ladyschrei said), and that's definitely important when stating your opinion.

I would love if you could check out my new story, Project 27. Cute

Like I said in the other blog, I don't see anything wrong with people disliking bandcest, or any type of slash story. Just, I can't stand when people attack it, and attack those who write it, you know? Like, there's always a respectful way to state your opinion.

Not saying you were rude in your blog, because you absolutely weren't ^0^

When I picture people in band stories, I just picture them normally, and then add in whatever details the author throws into their lives.

Anyway, I just wrote a new blog a couple minutes ago, it's still on the front page, if you wanna take a look :) You can also read any of my articles or my two stories, Ghost of You or Broken, both of which are linked in my signature Mr. Green
