Cinquains and Quintets. Anyone wanna help? - Comments

I feel awkward writing about things or people that are close to me in poetry. I don't know why exactly, but I also feel like some people won't get it because they don't have the connection that I do to it, so personal things aren't really something I want to write about. Random things suit me much better, but I can't think of anything and it's killing me.

You could try a person your close to, or look up to? And maybe a place you really love? Look for inspiration around you and write what you know. That's hopefully good advice.
