Is the pentacle / pentagram Satanic, Wiccan, or neither. You'll never believe the truth! - Comments

Late to the party as always but here's some light to shed on all this as I've studied all this to an extent.

Satan was actually a demon, he was to Lucifer as Michael was to God. But overtime the name Satan became another name for Lucifer, as did many of other Lucifer's names. Pretty much the only thing you can call Lucifer is the Devil and even that isn't proper because that term supposedly derirrives from a bunch of little demons or something like that.

Second, the whole thing with the pentacle/pentagram. The pentacle was used for Lucifer, because it really doesn't matter how it's flipped -- point up or down it's both a pentacle or a pentagram. But someone actually found the face of Satan (supposedly Lucifer, his face is supposed to be beautiful because he's an angel not a demon) in the pentacle so it was flipped and renamed. But as a Wicca, you can use it anyway. I personally draw it the easiest way I can and that's with the point facing down. It just looks neater.

Matter's with Lilith, she was never mentioned in the bible by name because most don't like to believe in her. I guess the idea of a woman before Eve is "bad" but if you look in the Torah, she's in there. I have no idea why she wasn't put in the Christian bible but it's a real shame since her children inhabit "hell"

I know. It just seems a bit odd to me in the bible. because (from what I remember) there were more than Adam and Eve/lillith when Lucifer was banished to hell. It's just my personal take on it, though.

The thing about Lilith "being in the bible" is that it is up to debate because the name is translated differently, so it obviously sparks a controversy. It is said she appears in Isaiah 34:14.
    King James Version:
The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.
This is possibly a small nod towards Lillith because she is deemed "The Howling One" (by some) because she roams the world howling of her hatred for mankind. In some translations though "screech owl" is translated as Lamia, Night Owl, Vampire, Creature of the Night, and on occasion Lillith.

So she is and isn't in the Christian bible? She's not a major player?

From what I've been taught to believe, "Satanism" isn't really the worship of "Satan", anyway. It's more like self-worship, which is considered to be a "sin", hence the name of the religion.

Lilith was from Judaism beliefs, and many Christians wouldn't recognize her name because she wasn't taught in their scriptures.
That is what I thought as well. I could have sworn that Lilith was more strictly in Mesopotamian and Judaic beliefs than Christian beliefs. It's debated that she is present even then in the Christian bible, but only in brief.

    Look at these two pentacles:
    Wiccan
    Satanism

Notice that the Wiccan one is with the point facing upwards while the Satanism is facing downwards. These are distinctly different pentagrams for two different purposes. Just like a rightside-up cross has a different meaning than an upside down cross, and the swastika is different when flowing clockwise. It all has to do with the flow of energy each creates.
And Satan and Lucifer are two different fallen angels believe it or not.
Lilith was from Judaism beliefs, and many Christians wouldn't recognize her name because she wasn't taught in their scriptures.

In the bible it says that Lucifer turned himself into the snake to tempt Eve... So unless I've read your comment wrong, I don't know where you got that.

This is a point I really believe strongly about, Lucifer was cast down at the time of man, and Satan was pure evil, and was the snake. I don't really believe that he's a person, just more of something all humans have, Curiosity. I do not believe, personally that they are the same person.

He vanished Lilith because she actually was Adam's equal in every way. But do to the sexism, man must be superior to females, he cursed her/banished (depending on what you believe or read) and started over with Eve. Fascinating tale.
