    I agree with the comment before. I went through something similar, and I let him go and it hurt me at first but then I realized it was for the best.

    Tell him the truth. The longer you prolong the inevitable, the harder it will be on both of you.

    It takes a lot of courage to be honest. But the truth is better than living in a lie.

    Eventually you would end up resenting him for putting you in this position.

    Breaking someone's heart sucks. But lying to them is even worse.
