Yeah that's true. I actually do this thing where I'll just stop talking a moment and breath lol. I might look quite the fool but at least I get my point across in a way that doesn't make me sound like a tard.

Yeah, I feel the same. I want to stick up for the poor people who are being bashed but I just don't need the drama! I also agree with what you said about not being able to words thing properly, cause of a hyper imagination. ME TOO!! Haha. I have an over-active imagination at the best of times but when I'm trying to get a point across I end up saying something completely different to what I was trying say then I have to try and explain myself. Yet when I write a story I can just sit at my computer and the words flow so easily.

    Of course!

And I totally get where you are coming from. I used to post a lot of my opinion and voice out what I felt on here and most of the time I'd get chewed out so I resorted to only arguing when another person voiced their opinion and such. I know it seems cowardly, but I'm not a leader type person either. You'd have to push my buttons to really get a rant blog from me.

Exactly! I should have put that in my post lol. If I come across something I'm not particularly fond of, I just click back or try something else!

Aww thanks so much for saying that! I was honestly really apprehensive about writing something like this because I always fear someone will try and attack me or twist my words. That also happens a lot when I just speak my mind it seems. Luckily, I must be saying the right things because a lot of people are agreeing and responding with positive feedback which I appreciate.

I'm not really a leader type of person, but I won't sit around and watch people bad mouth other people. I wish people would realize that it takes more effort to be mean to people than it does to say something nice. Hell, even if the nice things they say are choppy, it's better than an insult right?

    I like this.

Especially since about ever 3/7 comments I've been seeing lately have nothing to do with criticism but just plain dislike and rudeness. Whatever happened to the saying "if you don't like it, don't read it"

Nah. You're not hopeless. I'm sure, if you want, you can "slow down". I mean it takes time and if you think or try to calm yourself, you can succeed. :D

I absolutely agree with this, one hundred percent. I give you so much credit for coming out to post a blog like this. I honestly was thinking of doing the same sometime this week since I have been seeing a few really rude comments that are not even constructive on stories.

It's really just a douchebag thing to say and do. Thank you for saying something in the first place. It was really brave of you and as you can see, you have a lot of people who obviously agree.

LOL you're funny! Yeah I mean...when I go to write a story...the words will just flow but if I'm trying to explain myself or something in every day life, I fail. Hard. Like...I think it's because I probably have a slight hyper active mind. My thoughts race a mile a minute and when I talk to someone I want to really express myself, but I get all rushed and end up not wording things how I wanted to in the moment. Then later when I'm by myself I think, "Damn! I should have said this instead."

    Sigh...I'm hopeless lol.

Haha! Yeah. I don't know where half the shit that came out of my head came from. Sometimes emotions get the best of me. It just irks me that people can be so negative. Constructive criticism is fine, but saying a person is a bad writer is hurtful. It's either they really are mean or they just suck at wording things. Like giving advice to improve on writing.

I can't word either. I never know how to words. How does one words? lol

Yeah I hear ya. No one is personally being mean to me, but I've seen others done wrong by said people. I really don't ever get any negative feedback. Not even constructive criticism anymore lol. Although I used to a little back in the day and it helped me become better as a writer.

You said it perfectly when you said, "I feel like some authors have grown an ego that's far too big for this site. It's a writing site for those who enjoy writing. It's not a place you go to to smack talk someone on the wrong doings in their stories."

I'm glad you get what I mean. Hah, sometimes I have a hard time wording things right.

EXACTLY! Ugh...it's always on the tip of my tongue too. Like I want to say something directly to this person or persons, but it's not my place. If they want to diss people, I'll let them make asses of themselves it just bothers me. What happen to us all being on this site for the love of writing instead of popularity and nit picking?

Thank you for addressing this issue. I feel like some authors have grown an ego that's far too big for this site. It's a writing site for those who enjoy writing. It's not a place you go to to smack talk someone on the wrong doings in their stories. I've had an author do that once. They said I wrote in the wrong point of view. I was a bit awe stricken, because she did not get what I was getting at. Haha!

But, you can't let that get to you babe. Just have faith in your stories and ignore those who judge your stories when they obviously still have years to learn about it. Then again everyone gets taught differently. Take in account of the many schools, teachers, and forms of teachings/learning. I think the person that did that needs to step off.

When it happened to me, I just thanked them.

You're very welcome! I agree with what you've said. Some times though I even see more popular writers NOT helping people and basically bashing others in a "nice" way. That's half the reason I wrote this. I'm tired of people with popular status thinking they can make fun of people with less known writing. Makes me sad. I'm not saying all popular writers do that. There's good and bad people of all kinds it's just...lately...and a certain few popular ones.

I wish there was a like button on here! I completely agree with you on this! I saw the same thing happen the other day. And the author was like 14 or something. You don't go saying to a child that they "can't write for shit." That's all kinds of wrong. They should be nurtured and if they do make a mistake at least tell them in a nice way so they can learn. Shit like that really gets on my nerves. I just read another blog on here, that got on my nerves. Basically dissing people. UGH.

I love you for saying this! If someone's story doesn't have correct grammar or something like that, there is a polite way of saying it and they should even offer to help them. I mean I've gotten a few comments like that before and it makes you mad and feel like complete shit. I also got some popular writers that have commented and explained on how to make it better, but in a professional way. If you want to help someone become a better writer, be nice about it. Don't just judge them and throw profanities at them in a comment. Again, thanks for saying this.

    Yes! Go, you! *fist pump*

(I literally just typed "fisting" instead of "fist pump" and started cracking up in the middle of the library. Daylight savings has stolen life from me today...)

No that's just the thing, no one ever gives any of my stories criticism. This isn't about me and there wasn't a specific story of someones that these people dissed, it's the fact that they post blogs dissing like... a lot of readers. Like people who write about certain things. They'll make fun of them or how they write. I don't know if that makes sense, but thanks for having my back! I appreciate it. I will tell you this, if I ever see someone plainly discriminating someone like that, I'm reporting them lol.

Sorry to hear this. It's terrible when people try to put down a writer. I really hope that they didn't try to pass it for "contructive critism". OMG NO!
If you want, I can read the story and give you a real comment on it to make up for whatever that person said. I'd be happy to do it ^_^
