Mikael isn't Russian, I think it's Hebrew. The Russian variant of Michael is really similar though ('Mikhail'), so maybe that caused confusion. It's pretty unique anyway.
I understand how annoying having a strange name can be. My parents chose to name me after a revolutionary, which you'd believe is controversial enough, but my name is also outdated and not typical of female names (it doesn't end in -a). It can be frustrating but I think it suits me too much to bother changing it.
My government is Bycea I was named after my grandma who was named after her Godmother who was Russian so we think it's Russian, so idk what it means...
My nickname Neh means something though that I prefer not to say.
