I completely agree with you. And no making out with a best friend is not normal, least ways for anyone I know. Number four doesn't bother me as much because I just consider it to be another cliche. But some of the things people write are stupidly unrealistic. If I could add to this list I would just add the bully threatening/blackmailing one the protagonists into doing something. The latest one I read, the bully blackmailed the protagonist into being his bitch on the side by threatening to harm the protagonist's crush. Then the same thing happens. The protagonists goes along with it, becomes a victim, the crush finds out... blah blah blah. It's annoyingly predictable.

I don't mind 1, 4, and 5, it's just a cute, fun, one shot for me and I don't really care that it isn't realistic. But you do have a point here

    @ dru's sick and tired
Oh no no, not gender swap - that's its own genre entirely, I think if the sexuality of the character involves that sort of thing then it's not an issue- I was meaning more when someone writes slash or femmeslash and has no concept of the dynamics of the relationship being different, and so just write a story like it's about a heterosexual couple and then just change the gender of one of the characters.

And yes, ahaha, I know what you mean :) a lot of my friends have hooked up at parties etc- I meant when you read something and two characters just start making out as a form of greeting (this often seems to coincide with something which didn't make it on to my list, which was friends of the main characters who just show up in their bedrooms in the morning to wake them up and then make out with them).

People need to read this so that they STOP DOING THESE THINGS. It's cliche, annoying, and unrealistic... it's as if teenage scene girls don't think as they're writing.

    1. I'm assuming you mean genderswap? While it's not my favorite, I do find it fun to read sometimes, especially when well-written. I've also written trans characters.

    3. Hi, my name is Dru and me and all my female friends made out with each other in high school and I motorboat another one of my female friends for fun. Sex with friends is BOMB.

I am a huge fan of slash stories and I kinda agree with you here. When I first started reading slash, I didn't really mind but now, it just gets boring. Especially when they make the characters as overly random. It's just... no! When you're write about a late 20 something guys, they don't go around skipping and just acting silly all the time.

I wholeheartedly agree with all of these as an avid slash reader whenever I come across them (and oh how much I unfortunately do) I just want to shake them and ask whyyyyyyyy. Facepalm

Especially how every girl ever in slash fic is either some sort of slut or bitch that's only goal is to seal the love interest away. Seriously.
