But, they are being them if they're doing it. After all, they've always sounded different every album. So, in that sense HTTK is just as much them being themselves as any other of their albums. :-)imo.

I only think that because of the many interviews I have read/watched, they always talked about how they tried to be just like the older bands they love, and tried a whole new writing style. I think its great theyre bringing this music back, and they sound great, but I dont think its them.

You think they're trying to be something they're not? I have to respectfully disagree, and I'm sure the band would vehemently disagree as well...lol.

I agree. I think he would've liked it, but it just doesn't bring him to my mind like the other albums. Honestly, I think he would agree thatthwyre trying to be something there not.

It's kinda strange because this whole album made me think of Jimmy. Maybe because I figure Jimmy would've liked it? But maybe that's just me.

No I understand, and believe me, I've loved them since I was in 8th grade (I was like 14 then and I'm 23 now and a senior in college) so I completely get it. Jimmy was the one that absolutely stood out to me from day one and he was my hero. I felt like I connected with him, as weird as it sounds and I had the privilege of seeing at least once when he was alive. (I had strict parents *sigh*) So I guess I get a little defensive...but I miss that drummer so much. I miss him as much as I miss my mom. (she had passed away a month before I got to see them live for the first time) I have an understanding about the whole thing because of that I believe.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, but I do understand the soft spot. I've loves these guys since I was 8. I guess I just miss the "Jimmy-ness" of the album. If that makes any sense. Haha

Thank you! Glad some people are ^_^

I know, but I guess the way you "said" things really kind of burned under my skin. I guess I just have a really tender spot for them.

I love the album! Don't get me wrong, but I was just saying that's it's a different take on Avenged.

Okay, hopefully I'll say this in a way that won't get me banned, but how could you even have a doubt? This band has never given up on us. Of course it doesn't bring jimmy to mind because he did nothing on it, but that's how it is. You have to move on, like the band did. Jimmy is not sitting up in heaven like oh, guys you can't do anything without me. He wants them to grow, and hellllll they did. I cannot stop listening to it, it's the best thing I've heard in years. And to the commenter, no offense but "not as avenged as it could have been"? Watch the part four interview, Matt says that when bands sell out, it's when they don't write what they want to write. These guys wrote what they wanted, and they are happy with it. Pretty much, I feel like Matt is saying, if you don't like it, get out. Saying it's not as "avenged" as it could have been...that's down right rude because of everything they have given to their fans, and they followed their hearts...it makes me sad to see avenged fans nit picking and not being able to grow with the band. Okay, I'm done.

I feel it's not as Avenged as it could've been. I don't know if that was because I feel they went more in the direction of relying on their roots instead of adding more of their own spin, or if it is Jimmy that the album is missing. Maybe I just need to listen to it a bit more.

Regardless, I still love the album, it's kickass. Besides Hail, I'm really digging Shepherds as well.
