Most people over here are respectful of it, and we do have silences and stuff. but no matter what country you're in, you're always going to get the insensitive few

This blog was beautiful and actually gave me chills to read. As an American, it's touching to see that people from other countries had connections to the Twin Towers as well. I'm from Kentucky, and I'd never been to the towers (I was only 5 or so when it happened.) it's still a very emotional thing for me. As it is all Americans, I think.

I just want to thank you for understanding. It makes me so angry every year when other people from other countries ridicule Americans for still grieving over 9/11. It sickens me. They compare it to the bombings of Japan in WWII. And maybe to them, that is their 9/11, but I won't tell them they can't grieve because they bombed Pearl Harbor. The insensitivity I see from English citizens makes me so sad and I honestly dread to see it tomorrow. Tomorrow is my country's day to grieve because there's no reason that should have happened.

The picture was beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. It was truly touching.
