It's like people who wanted to feel the earthquake across the town. Or that happened in another city. People are so focused on their desires and brainwashed by the media that that can't focus on life. There are important things for us to do and it isn't argue about stupid things!! It's so ungrateful to think like that. This is a serious issue, I can't believe people want to be sick.

We should take the middle ground so that we don't have so many obese and so many anorexic people but instead, a lot of healthy people with focus in their lives and why God created us here.

What's wrong with weight loss blogs? If it's done healthy and properly it's an admirable goal. It makes me sad that some people think it's easier to just not eat or whatever.

Right but still, just keep in mind that some people genuinely do want to lose weight to be more healthy. Eating disorders popular subjects online but it's not always the case with weight loss.

People glorify things that will make them feel special. People glorify their problems unintentionally. Say someone posts a blog or a story about a self-harming, severely depressed, anorexic, bisexual 18 year old girl. It could just be an honest account of their life, and by posting it, they feel better because they may have finally told someone or found somewhere that they might just belong. This will inevitably backfire. They'll instantly get a lot of attention and sympathy. Regardless to whether it's wanted or not. You'll get 12 and 13 year olds seeing this amount of attention, looking up to the said person, and trying to imitate their actions. Even if that wasn't the intention of the person who posted about such things. It's unhealthy, but y'know, young children aren't being taught properly about mental health issues and other things. So they look up to others and it's a destructive cycle.

Kids get so confused these days, bless their little cotton socks.

Wow. That's awful. Eating disorders are a serious problem. Judging people on their weight or appearance is the stupidest thing ever. If anyone is ashamed based on their looks or how much they weigh, don't be. There is always going to be someone who will love you for YOU. Don't change for anyone. I totally agree with you by the way. It's an illness, not some stupid lame trend.

I remember that. And there was also a slut shaming phase which honestly drove me up the damn wall. I personally think mibba isn't as friendly as it used to be.

I'm glad, and I've noticed that as well. It seems something is always a trend. There's always something that shouldn't be desired, being desired. I remember when there were millions of blogs about cutting and about depression and suicide. It just comes and goes in phases around here.

I hope my blog didn't upset you. I only want to be healthier, not learn how to get an unhealthy disorder. Besides, I only started thinking about it because I've been in a nutrition class in college for the last few weeks! I have seen a few blogs about similar stuff though.

I know but I get messages like "I'm 94lbs I'm anorexic can I have some of your tricks and tips?" From mibba accounts that have just been created so I feel like I'm being trolled. There's nothing funny about glamorizing a situation like this.

Jamie, some of the people asking for tips to lose weight, they aren't Ill at all. It's not bad to ask for help to try and lose unwanted weight.

    That's ridiculous.

You're right about the gender thing. Mainly girls get anorexia but just as much boys end up bulimic same as girls. I have apparently saved 2 people from becoming bulimic. What I don't understand is you can't stop somebody from being bulimic. As I said, it's an illness, not a trend. People annoy me and I just decided I'm no longer going to update my story, or at least until people understand that mental illnesses are not a damn trend.

I think most, if not all teenage girls (unfortunately there is a bit of a gender bias there, for multiple reasons, but of course I'm not saying that only girls get EDs), go through a "wanna be" anorexic phase. It usually doesn't stick. So, in case you were worrying about the people's well being who were messaging you, I wouldn't worry too much. I think they're just looking for answers. I think it'd be good of you to explain to them the reality of an ED. It's of course not your obligation though...I hope you don't let these messages keep you from using Mibba!

You are so right about it. I have started a story called Mirrors with another mibbian which is about bullimia and anorexia, and I received two messages asking me for tips to lose weight as well. I know how you feel.

I didn't word anything wrong. I don't think they're automatically related to eating disorders but when I'm getting messages about how to lose wait it annoys me.

    @ darko.
You dahling. I would connect you to my other social network pages.

how to lose weight blogs =/= anything to do with eating disorders whatsoever. I can see how fasting blogs/wanting to starve yourself blogs are annoying and offensive, but the how to lose weight blogs doesn't automatically means it's associated with this 'eating disorder' trend you say is going around on Mibba? Maybe you worded it wrong, but that's the impression I got.
