Yeah, I didn't realize the series was written by her until just now. Her writing style is a little simplistic in some of her books for me and I didn't really care at all for the way The Princess Diaries series was written, but she does do a very good job at writing three-dimensional female leads. She presents their family, their history, their backstory, their normal wants and desires. It's a very real portrait of a girl.

Thank you! I think I'll reread the series from the beginning. Very Happy

Starting from the beginning is usually the best idea in these situations. The first book is The Ninth Key, I believe.

You should definitely start it. I feel like it has more impact in book form, but that's just me.

I actually have no idea. It was years ago. But I have some of them in my bookshelf, and I don't think I have read those. So maybe I should read those first or something. I don't even know.

    IT IS LITERARY PERFECTION.

    @ iggy.
Which book did you last read? I have the order stored in my head. I think the last Percy Jackson book is probably the best. *sends preemptive tissues

    @ gonna hear dru roar.
I totally forgot about that series when I was making this. I've read it more times than I can remember. Meg Cabot is great at female leads.

You should try the "When Lightning Strikes" series by Meg Cabot. You just reminded me it exists. The female lead is a well-written character. She gets struck by lightning and can find missing people. The books are interesting because none of them follow the same vein/plot.

I love The Mediator series and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I still have to finish both series, though. I read The Mediator series out of order, and I can't figure out which book I am supposed to read next. And I'm currently reading the last book of the Percy Jackson series. Bring on the tears!
