The Missouri thing... that happened 40 miles from where I graduated school. A gym in my city is keeping a rapist as an employee and cancelled the survivor's membership and told her not to bother pressing charges.

    It's so sick.

There's another article I should've included but didn't remember until I read your comment - 5 Ways Modern Men Are Trained to Hate Women. It's all just horrifying and unbelievable at times.

First of all, thank you for the link to all of those articles; I'm reading each of them (the ones that I haven't read yet).

I simply cannot understand why it is that people say they "don't believe" in rape culture; is it so ingrained into our society that we don't notice this anymore? Has it become such a normalized attitude that we cannot see the horrible pressure and blame we place on women for simply being women?

I find it horrible that we have to show proof of it to simply bring attention to the issue; meanwhile we have victim-blaming on sexual assault survivors, shaming women for choices they make over their own bodies, denying equal access to healthcare, insurances, education, and quality of life to women based not only on their gender, but also on race, sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, ethnicity, nationality.
