Ack.
I'm so sorry.
There really isn't anything worse- your animal can't tell you when/if they're in pain, it really sucks and it's completely heartbreaking.
I had a similar situation with my dog. He had a growth on his chest bone (right over one of his lungs), good news it was a fatty tumor (and no big deal) bad news, he had Cushing's Disease and he would continue getting such tumors. He was diagnosed in 2005 and he passed away in April of 2012, so it wasn't a "terminal" condition and he was twelve, right at age expectancy for a Beagle. It never actually affected his quality-of-life.
It sounds like you probably caught it early, so that's really great.
The best advice I can give is stay positive and just love her to pieces. I know how awful waiting is.
I'll be sure to keep her and your family in my prayers!
I wasn't prepared to hear it when my parents told me it was cancer. I had had my dog since I was 5 and I didn't want to lose him. I cried like a baby. The only reason I'm saying this is so you can think about it in case it isn't good news, because you want to be prepared for whatever outcome. I'm sure everything will be fine, and I wish you and your dog the best of luck.
