I'm getting the patterned images straight from Google, sometimes from Photobucket and I am placing the banner into the title section.

Let me gather the images that I'm using and I'll message them to you and I really can't seem to make it work :/

Where are you getting the patterned image up? And are you placing your banner in the content section instead of the title section? If you want, you can message me the URLs to the images you are using and I can try to figure what the problem is from there! I'm sorry you're having trouble and I hope I can help you!

Okay, so I thought that I'd try and make a layout like this for a second try and again, even with following these instructions, for the patterned layout, it's not merging into the background and allowing the content to have a coloured background. It doesn't matter what image I use, it just won't work

This is an amazing help, but I can't get mine to work... the image that I'm using for the side, won't merge with the background colour so all you can see if the background colour and I've tried using a variety of different images to see if it makes a difference but nothing seems to work... help, please?

oh my God I was always wondering how people did that. I make layouts and stuff but using that in specific was eating my brain.... thank you! i'm going to try and if not i'll ask you definitely!! :D

Great blog! And I'm suggesting the same thing as everyone else - to the tutorials section this should go!

This is absolutely genius, I've always wondered how people did this! I made a layout for one of my stories using this so I think you deserve thanks for making my story look fairly good.

I definitely agree with aubree james. though, this could be submitted to the tutorials section as an article. You get Mibba points for those too so that's a bonus.
