I totally agree with you on how you define how someone is passionate.

I'm passionate about writing, reading, watching anime, movies and TV series, and listening music.

I guess I'd define how passionate someone is by how much they love something, even if they struggle with it. How much they talk and know about it (or certain parts of it). And if asked, is it something they'd die for/die without if someone tried to take it away from them completely to the point where they'd never get it back.

For me, my passion is writing and reading, though I have periods of doing it and then not doing it. Wrestling is another one, though again, I have periods of watching it/not watching it, though I can talk about it and wrestlers a lot.

I'm passionate about lots of stuff. But let's just talk about the fact that ducks have 9 inch long corkscrew...uh...genitals. And koala bears sleep all the time because eating eucalyptus makes them high.
