As many experienced guitarists know, first steps in learning are the most frustrating ones, as you don't have any quality-of-life accessories yet. Once you get a little experience under you belt, you should pick up a jazzmaster pickup for surf music as your first piece of equipment. This nifty thing will be one of the most useful things you will ever buy for playing guitar, so read some articles on this topic in order to choose the best model.
@ kim wonshik. Jesus that picture makes me just sgvjndfgpijnwpug; I remember when I first saw it and it's from New Year's Eve 2008 I literally don't know why I remember that.
@ heatherlight GIRL I'M SORRY I LOVE THAT PICTURE TOO. EEK THAT FACE THO AND THOSE TATTOOS
@ Zacky Vengeance; My fingers are too small to make the chords right half the time! They hurt because I've been trying so hard, haha. I have trouble switching between chords
@ sodapop curtis gurl I played guitar like during the summer of 2011 because I was in love with Patrick Stump (still am) and I wanted to learn how to play Spotlight lol. I don't know how I did it back then because now I'm like "wtf is this shit" And yass dat Wentzzzz
FAVOURITE PICTURE OF HIM. LOOK AT THE LITTLE CLANDESTINE BAT AND THE FUCKING EMO BLACK POLISH AND HIS LAUGH AND HIS HANDS COVERING HIS FACE AND URGGHHHH THIS MAN.
Oh, and guitar is just practice. I still suck but I disguise it well. Alone Together is easier than it seems.
It takes practice- that's it. There's no shortcut or easy way around it- you just have to practice. Start easy- glancing at the 'Alone Together' chords, that C#m is not going to be your friend. Get some simple chords down first and then try tackling the more difficult stuff. Green Day is good for that, and Paramore too, if you're into them :)
I feel your pain gurl. I used to play guitar but my interest in it faded and I just kinda stopped practicing. I was never really meant to be a musician anyway, my fingers are too short and stubby for stringed instruments I wonder if I'd remember how to play if I picked it back up again.
I experience the same problem! My hand is tiny and in Therapy you have to play an F#m once every bar and a B#m / Bm (I can't remember which - I think it's a Bm though). It was horrible trying to learn. It's not too hard now though. Good luck.
Patrick is just sooooo adorable. And I love his voice! OH MY GOD! HIS VOICE!!!!!!!!
I have small fingers too which suck especially when I'm trying to play barred chords. I always try to find ways to play the songs without using barred chords.
@ sheepcat; I have the chords down, but the other problem is my hand is too small to reach the proper frets half the time! I think it's just Am, C, F, and G for the song, so it's not that hard. To be fair I've only played a little in the past and today was the first time I've played in two years. Ah well, I'm sure it will come easier. It was just kind of a goal I had to be able to play a song by the end of spring break, haha
@ charity_hope I can't even choose between them because I love them both so much! They're both so cool in person! Pete's just had a special place in my heart because he really understood me when I talked to him. Patrick was beyond adorable and I just sdflkjsngkj; he holds a different place in my heart eek I love them.
I agree with charity_hope; finger picking sucks. What chords does Alone Together use? I need to get together a bigger repertoire than just 12 Bar Blues and Therapy
Pete Wentz.. But I've always been a Patrick girl ever since Dance Dance.
Playing guitar is hard at first. For me it was, anyway. And I don't find strumming patterns hard. I find myself having trouble with finger picking. Lol! But after a lot of practice, it just comes naturally to you. I self-taught so I'm a bit slow. But you know. Practice makes perfect. Good luck!
