I usually go with the motto "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Even if someone comments on my blog rudely, I try my best not to involve myself in an argument. (By the way, I hope my response to you on the blog about Avenged didn't make you feel this way, I was simply expressing my side of things, based on my experiences.)
