Thank you both so much for your kind words and advice. I do feel much better now that I've started taking my medicine again and it's nice to know that I'm not alone :)

I'm so sorry you ran out of your medication. I know how horrible it can be to go through withdrawal. I really hope you can get back on track again with that. I can understand why they have that kind of policy (they have to be careful because suicidal ideation is pretty big with anti depressants, especially if you're a teenager). Although it is a good idea, it can be dangerous, because like what's happened to you, if you run out, it can make things harder. There is no policy like that where I live. I've gone through horrible bouts of suicidal ideation with anti depressants, and it has brought me to many suicide attempts in the past. I wish they had a similar policy here, or my body wouldn't be so against me as it is. I've overdosed many times, and my liver isn't in such a good state.

Bipolarity isn't defined by constantly unstable moods. Actually, it's defined by periods of mania and then depression, each lasting weeks (or more) at a time. It's a common misconception. People joke "Oh my god I must be bipolar" when their moods go up and down, and so it's easy to think that that is what being bipolar is like. I hope that you don't experience the symptoms, because it's a very hard disorder to live with.

I'm so sorry things are difficult for you right now. I had to move a few months ago, and it was very hard. I guess it's different, though, because I have moved quite a lot. I hope that things get easier for you. I think that once you get back on your medication, things will be easier to cope with. It's very hard for you right now, and going through withdrawal is just magnifying everything. Don't worry too much, it will get easier for you.

It's actually really normal to have that kind of reaction as you stop taking an antidepressant.

I'm the exact same way- I went on vacation and in my hurry to pack, forgot my antidepressant/anxiety medication. I spent the last three days of vacation endlessly irritated and crying at just about everything. It's your brain going through that withdraw- your body is used to having that chemical imbalance regulated, and it's struggling to cope without it.

I am a total bear when I forget mine. Although, I've never heard of someone needing a refill every month. I get a year at a time (and they send me a three month supply). I suppose it may be because of where you're located, I'm sure regulations are different between the two countries.

I do hope you feel better! Arms
