lmfao Now that's just absurd! I'm starting to be convinced that someone really has it out for Mibba and is just sending out all these spambots to troll us xD

Duuuude, these things, I don't know if it's driving me up the wall or amusing the hell out of me. XD

Of course they're awful and annoying and infiltrating our peace and all of that unpleasantness, but it just amuses me that they take time to label these things with a story type and story genres. tehe It's just so inexplicably funny to me, I can't even understand why myself but it's just silly.

But no, they suck and I need them to leave, like, now, because they are swimming their way into the Stories and Poems section and even the Blog section occasionally and no. Go away, you're not welcome here.

I wonder what their forum posts would ever look like if they went there. . .God forbid. OMG NO!

What I don't understand is why... because surely the time and money it costs to pay people to post the spam is way more than any revenue they get from people here going to that site.
That's what I don't get either :/ I mean does anyone on Mibba actually check out those links? Or even if there are a few people who are looking out curiosity, surely it's not enough to make posting all that spam worth their time, right? It just can't be. Think

Oh trust me, we notice, haha! It can sometimes just be a case that no one is on at that time due to time zones. I usually check in the morning for spam and then do another sweep a few hours later and I'll continue doing that until I know that someone else is on to take over but I've been laptop-less for the past week or so and I didn't realise they were still being so relentless. lmfao We all will, we'll look back on it as a fun time. Maybe. Shifty Me either because sitting clicking a delete button 10+ times is really boring and tedious. lmfao And it messes with the story page. Now that I've deleted the latest wave, some of the story pages only have 3 or 4 actual stories on them and that annoys me almost as much as the spam does. Grr

I'm glad that someone's doing something about it! There's so many sometimes it's hard to tell if anyone ever noticed them besides me! Hopefully when they stop, we'll have something else to look back on and remember the times (The Asian Invasion Wink ). I just can't wait until these people get tired and go away!

I think we actually have captcha on the accounts. I can't remember though, it has been years since I made my account so who even knows.

The spam is just getting ridiculous though. I mean, the story editors have been given the almighty power to delete the spam but I feel like for every one I delete, there are like 5 more stories posted. I get really pissy about it as well because they just seem to be hitting the story and poem sections, which are the sections of the site I help out in and it makes me so angry.

I hadn't checked the stories page since my last report a few hours ago though, so I'll nip through and delete the new ones in a second now they've been brought to my attention. Ain't no spammers getting away with spamming my sections of the site when I'm online. No way. Coffee

It's beyond annoying and they need to get lost. I can't believe people are actually wasting their time doing that crap.

These are people that keep making new accounts to post spam, not bots, so a captcha wouldn't be much help.

I've been getting rid of loads in the blogs over the past few days as they tend to spam conveniently in line with my breaks at uni. The story mods are doing the same and deleting the spam stories as they catch them but until there's an admin on and awake to ban the users, they'll keep spamming. And then they create new accounts and start again Facepalm

What I don't understand is why... because surely the time and money it costs to pay people to post the spam is way more than any revenue they get from people here going to that site.

Yes! You don't see any other website getting them! Why? Because they have captcha challenges so this doesn't happen!

I agree! I don't see why a person would waste their time doing that unless there's some repercussion to clicking on them (Like accidentally downloading a virus or something). They just make me nervous about that and they're annoying!

    @ Anchor and Hope.
Yeah, I clicked on one to report it, hoping it would get someone's attention, but I haven't done it again because I don't know why they're posted. If they do cause virus or breeches, I don't want anything to do with them.

I think they should do captcha challenges. Unless it's a person.
