THANK YOU for taking the time to write this. You've said it all better than I ever could. It sickens me when people criticize the poor as being "lazy" when in reality they have no fucking clue how this shit works and how debilitating it is, yet if you're not acting like you're completely crippled by the situation (as you said, smiling or laughing or enjoying life in any possible way) then you're a leech. There's just such a harmful, misinformed stigma around the entire ordeal and it's always used to blame the victim even though they're trying their hardest to make things work on what little money they have.
