If you want something really, and I mean REALLY, weird from somewhere else (austria in this case) search for the band "Bilderbuch" and their song "Maschin" (if you find the video with the weird guy in the yellow car you're right)

Tbh I didn't like it much in the beginning but it's stuck up there now. Enjoy! Smile

I'd only recommend them if you're not too fussed about strong accents in singing voices, but Twin Atlantic just brought out an album called Great Divide which is pretty amazing. The song Brothers and Sisters is just anthemic. While I'm talking about Scottish bands, Biffy Clyro are always worth a listen too. Their old stuff is more heavy, but the past 3 albums they released have been pretty commercialised and awesome.

I'm not too into chart music myself (as a music business student, that's probably pretty hilarious of me but hey ho) but Ellie Goulding has been in the charts a lot lately and she's incredible. And if you're looking for really cheesy music, then McBusted are pretty great (a mix of McFly and old members of Busted -- both bands are probably worth checking out separately too). The song Sensitive Guy off of McBusted's album is pretty hilarious and catchy!

I recommend Walk the Moon. Their song Tightrope is one of my favorites, but if you wanna dance, Shut up & Dance With Me is definitely something to look up! Their stuff is just so cool.:)

Also, since they're my boys, I have to rec Falling in Reverse. :P

It's been a while since I've listened to a lot of these, but I'll recommend some songs that were my favorites back when I was really into UK Top 40 stuff:

    - Disco Love by The Saturdays
    - Glow In The Dark by The Wanted
    - Eyes Wide Shut by JLS
    - Down With The Trumpets by Rizzle Kicks
    - Want U Back by Cher Lloyd

And I can recommend some Korean songs, if you're interested in that (I made sure all of the linked vids have English subtitles):

    - HER by Block B
    - Rum Pum Pum Pum by f(x)
    - A by GOT7
    - Last Romeo by Infinite
    - Mr. Chu by Apink

I recommend listening to anything from the weather section of Welcome to Night Vale. There's a really great selection of music there. (There's a playlist here.)

Ooh! OK, firstly, I'd answer YES to downloading 1D and Sheeran songs! They're great!
    Here's a 1D Playlist I compiled recently: Here

    And Ed Sheeran one: Here

    Check out Sheeran's recent album.

I think you should try listening to Bruno Mars, Sam Smith and Olly Murs too!

    Bruno Mars
    Sam Smith
    Olly Murs

The Vamps, One Republic and 5 Seconds Of Summer are all good ones to look up too!

Also, if you're into rock try giving Foreigner's Hot Blooded and songs from Three Days Grace a listen if you haven't already! Guns N' Roses, Queen and AC/DC are just the best, but I'm assuming that you've already heard of these before. But if not, you'd better go check em out! ;)

If you really want to try something wild, I'd like to suggest listening to some Korean pop artists and groups like Big Bang, EXO, Super Junior, the old Dong Bang Shin Ki as five members (songs like Mirotic, Wrong Number and Hug), Girls' Generation and 2NE1. Fantastic Baby by Big Bang will probably make you think WTAF at first hahaha, but then I bet you'll find it gets stuck in your head!

Also, I agree with all suggestions from Sassenach!
