I fully understand where you're coming from. I have a million and one old stories from a few years ago lying around, most uncompleted, and when I read them I love parts but others I just cringe at how horrible they are.
But I always feel bad for not completing their story. Or I wonder what I could do with the story now.
Anyhow, kudos to you for not churning out Mary Sue's (I think I'm a bit guilty of that sometimes), and good luck with re-writing your stories (I'm sorry if that doesn't work, I've never used smilies, haha)
