MM, sex definitely sells. It sells here, it sells on Mediaminer.org, it sells everywhere XD It mostly lures high schoolers though since they're always looking for the two hot people they absolutely love from their favorite band or fandom as a couple having sex or something.I often find my fluffier stories on ff.net will sell a little more depending on the fandom i write for.

Well it didn't happen on here because I either wrote in a fandom no one else was into on here or it was original fiction, but I so notice that on asianfanfics. Whenever I list my story as mature I get a lot more readers. And all the comments are "when is soandso oppa going to have sex!?" and I'm here like this is a real story with a real plot not just plotless porn. if you wanted that, look at my oneshots.

Sex sells and gains a lot of readers I guess look at 50 shades. A lot of people are all "ew, it's based off of Twilight?! eeewwww!" and then went to watch the movie because it had "BDSM" in it. I guess as long as there's sex a lot of people will flock to it

I've never really noticed with my own stories though when I go looking for stories, I usually go for things R or above. Can't really pinpoint what my reasoning is haha

With mine, my reader count drastically changes with the fandom and that's all I've really noticed.
