@ caves of steel. I looked into dogwood trees, but they're shaped different and their flowers all seem to have four petals whereas the one I'm looking at they all have five. I've found the most similarities in certain kinds of crabapple trees, but I can't remember these trees ever having produced fruit? I found one kind of crabapple tree that is sterile and has the EXACTLY right flower size/shape, but it's got a totally different overall shape (more tall than wide, whereas the trees in my neighborhood are about as wide as they are tall since the branches grow more horizontally than vertically).

This is all so frustrating.
