We're already on public assistance for medical bills, but my husband has dental insurance so we don't apply for dental insurance through the state. But is only covering a little over 1/3 of the cost of the root canal he's about to get the final part of. Despite having that assistance, we are STILL in this situation. And to be honest, telling me that my last-ditch, desperate attempt to ensure that I can see someone I love before they die is a fruitless effort is really discouraging and I'm really hurt that that's your response. For what it's worth, we've raised $100 in four days, and there are a few more people who might be able to help out, so we're holding onto hope.

We've got very little that we can pawn, unfortunately. The only stuff we have is my husband's guitars, which are definitely of high sentimental value as almost all of them were gifts. We've been this broke for a very long time. I physically can't give blood/plasma, because I have such a severe phobia of needles, but it might be something for my husband to think about. Still, it wouldn't get us enough money fast enough at this point. I understand that you can't give, though. I don't hold that against anyone. I know a lot of us are in similar situations.

If you are really desperate you could both give blood. Try pawning or selling things. Trust me, if I had money I'd help, but I can barely afford to eat. I think most people are in a similar situation because of the increasing wage gap. Good luck anyway.

I have no money but I have advice, go to a DSS office where you live and try to apply for public assistance. Apply for medical assistance so that you don't have to worry about dental and medical bills. I am on Hudson health plan and that covers all medical and dental bills along with E.r visits. That way you can have money for bills and what ever you need. That way if something like this happens you don't have to really sorry. I don't feel that Gofundme will go anywhere, and that's because I've used it. Took me over a month just get 250$ for my dog. If I had money I would donate. I am so sorry that you have to go through this.
