I am a republican and I was raised Mormon and I can tell you, I think child molesters deserve the fucking needle because that shit is unforgivable and inexcusable. All crimes deserve to be recognized as such and dealt with accordingly. I think molestation is one of the most abhorrent and heinous things a person can do, whether they happen to be Christian or not. It's not like non-Christians aren't taught morality. I wouldn't condone or try to dismiss an act of sexual assault, or any other kind of assault, regardless of what religion or race the perpetrator belonged to. I don't think child molestation would be somehow less horrendous if committed by an atheist or anyone else who wasn't Christian, and I don't think it's more horrendous being done by a Christian. You pretty much deserve the damn Judas Cradle for that kind of thing no matter who you are. I think it's pretty universally understood that molesting a child or sexually abusing anyone is something that you just don't do.

It's really ridiculous to me that so many people in this country seem to be judging the severity of crimes not based on the content of the crimes themselves, but on the skin color or religion of the person committing them. That's beyond crazy. We're all humans, aren't we? We should all be judged on the content of our character and on our actions as human beings, not based on our skin tone or whether or not we go to church on Sundays.

I'd definitely sooner forgive someone for shoplifting over rape/molestation because stolen chips (I'm assuming you're referring to Mike Brown) are just something minor and can be replaced, but the stolen innocence of his sisters, that he took, that can't be replaced. Molesting them and the other girls took away not only their innocence but their sense of security. I definitely agree with this entire blog. It might be shocking because Josh was raised as a Christian, going by all the morals that comes with being Christian, but it shouldn't forgiven at all, let alone so easily. I think at this point, the Duggars are just worried about keeping their show and the popularity that comes with it so they're just kinda sweeping it under the rug and accepting that he's "sorry" and repented. Though if you ask me, he doesn't look or seem too apologetic.
