@ WorshipCupcakes I don't have a lot of family members on Facebook but the ones I do have are fairly strict Methodists. Methodists tend to feel the same way toward LGBTQ+ people that Southern Baptists do. x.x I always block them from political things like this because their comments are just something I cannot deal with. Not to mention that they don't even know I'm gay yet so there's that too lol. x)
And that last part is why I blocked my post about the ruling from being seen by my family members. x)
I was so happy to wake up and see that ruling this morning. I wasn't expecting anything until like Monday. I have no shame in admitting that I teared up a bit. I'm so happy that I have the same rights as everyone else now and I'm happy my girlfriend and I will be treated equally~ <3
@ LAX. Good for you! I "outed" myself back in 2007 to my some family members. To the rest of the world, I "outed" myself when I joined FB in 2011 by saying that I'm "interested in men and women".
I accidentally outed myself to my grandmother today. I posted on facebook "its now illegal to be straight. God bless America." she replied along the lines of "?? are you a gay ??" but I'm so feeling myself right now, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Their opinion didn't bother me, it was more the fact that they had commented on my post about listening to Lady Gaga.
