    @ Xia;
    It is.

    Ryan thinks ISIS will end up pissing off Russian to the point of action before they do the United States. I'm not so sure.

    If an attack of this magnitude happens in the U.S. we will go to all out war.

    @ Xia;
    This attack has had a very similar effect as 9-11 did. No one expected it, even though we should have. Same with 9-11.

    In the rising threat of ISIS, there will be a lot of veterans and reserves switching to active duty and at the moment all we can do is wait and prepare for the worst. There's a lot of chaos on the horizon and we will be forced to face it head on.

    ISIS is taking their fight to the streets, attacking innocent civilians. The last time this happened was during WW2. I don't know exactly what's coming, but it won't be good.

    @ cleopatra.
    I agree. That's exactly what I was thinking last night, that this is going to have a very similar response that 9-11 did and so far I have been correct.

    This violence that's going on now, it's not about religion anymore. Not about ethnicity or beliefs; this is about humanity. The innocent must be protected and the criminals brought to justice. We all have to stand together.

    I have worn the same uniform as active duty Navy wear all through high school and while there are a lot of things that uniform represents, first and foremost it means honor. When our servicemen and women put those uniforms on, they wear it with honor: honor to the oath they swore to protect the innocent.

    Not every understands that, but there's no doubt that we're all human and need to treat each other as such, or we will never be fully unified, and without that, the death toll will only grow.

    Hopefully this will be the wakeup call the world needs. Hopefully it gives us the strength to fight ISIS just like it gave us the strength to recover from the events of 9-11.

    a new generation will ask "where were you when the attack on paris" happened bc the world stopped last night. being a muslim in this country has been hard, but it was yesterday for the first time in a long while where ppl deliberately went out of their way to throw racial comments in my direction. do ppl understand that countries in the middle east are attacked as well? regardless, this isis thing - i agree - is a threat to all of humanity & needs to be stopped before more innocent lives are claimed. this just makes me wonder what's in store for the future.

    always supporting your friends & all other servicemen who do so much for this country. & it's strange how history repeats itself & more find strength in themselves during these dark times. thank you for writing this

    Wonderful blog. Your friends and other armed servicemen are always in my prayers. The threat of ISIS is truly becoming terrifying and I can't believe that many are just now waking up to it.
