Honestly, you just have to have control. You have to learn how to find inspiration for that story even when you just want to scrap the whole thing. For me, I'm constantly looking for inspiration, whether it's through music, movies, novels, etc.

As for not liking what you write, I've learned that as writers, we're harsher on our work than others are. So if you write a bad chapter that you absolutely can't stand and it just sucks out your motivation, either think towards where you're trying to go and just continue, or rewrite it. You're allowed to rewrite as many times as you want. And if you still hate it or get stuck, give it time. There's no time crunch on your work.

Personally, I have multiple stories going at once so that if I get tired of one, I can switch over, write for other and get back into the groove, and then update the one that's giving me trouble. For years I never allowed myself to have more than two stories at a time, but in the last recent years, I haven't been able to control that as well and I currently have four.

You just have to use self-control. Spend time creating a layout or writing out your ideas for the new story, but don't post it online. Go back to your current story and work on that. You can do both, but you just have to have self-control and inspiration, when it comes down to it.

Finishing a story for me is kind of hard because I'm really critical of myself. I usually finish the first draft on here, get as much feedback as possible, and then re write it and do the same thing no matter how badly it sucks.

Honestly, at first it was super freaking hard for me, but I kind of just looked at my writing one day and decided that I needed to put it out there to grow as a writer.

I usually try to stick to a schedule. I upload on here every Monday and Thursday usually, and I write throughout the week. Doing that has helped me because if I skip a day I can go back and read through my work and fix anything I want to but, I have to have something up by that Monday and Thursday night deadline.

Hopefully this helped. If you need any advice or anything, feel free to message me on here :).
