This is a very useful blog. Thank you for posting! I feel like, when writing, it's easy to overlook things like recoil. It's especially easy if someone doesn't have experience shooting guns.

My only suggestion of what could be added to this is a list of gun safety procedures. Most of it's common sense, but it's still important.

The magazine is what you take out to load it. Cute You don't really have those on classic rifles, unless they're assault rifles.

Aiming is a thing that I forgot to go over; rifles and long-barreled things are a lot easier to hit your target, which really does make the person shooting feel better. That's why (back when I lived with my dad and had to hunt for food for winter, though I don't get the point of hunting for sport), I used this:

A .22...maybe I should point out that it wasn't uncommon for people to bow hunt where I lived. With these...geez, this is making me realize how isolated I was.

Handguns and revolver-type things are really hard to aim.

& when I shot bb guns, we just put little paper targets on haybails. We also used tin cans and 2L bottles full of water, as well as these things:

Crazy Thanks for this! I love informative blogs! In Love
A magazine is such a weird name to give to a gun part. Does it help the holder to 'read' the gun or something? Think

I've only shot two guns in my life and I'm quite saddened by this. I personally wouldn't want to shoot a living thing but when you get a bullseye (which never happened with archery because I suck at archery) it's such a sick feeling!
This is the second gun I shot (think they were both rifles):

We never had those tripod-looking things to support the gun on the table though.

What kind of targets did you use for your shootings?

I remember in an episode of The Walking Dead the people who knew how to shoot were teaching the rest of them, and this one kid tried to do the sideways thing and they were like "come on, don't give me that gangster shit. Hold the gun right." lmfao

This sort of "one-handed" thing is what I was talking about:

    That's a really bad idea.

And yes, they are generally inaccurate.

I get so annoyed by the lack of recoil that is ever portrayed in Hollywood lmfao I've shot a few different kinds of hand guns (I haven't tried the shotguns/rifles/etc yet) and they fucking kick. that recoil is no joke. No way would it ever work for me one-handed lmao. And yes, they are so damn loud. We had the necessary ear plugs in and my ears were still ringing.

I always lol a little at gunshots and explosions in movies/tv because they're typically sooo inaccurate.
